By calming your reactions and increasing your awareness of body sensations and thoughts, you are better informed to change your habitual ways of responding. My therapeutic approach combines mindfulness with cognitive behavioral therapy. Mindfulness us helps to be more aware of what is going on around and within us. With increased awareness we can learn to step outside of our reactions, pause, and make different choices than our habitual reactions to stressors.
