Dansville Dogwood Festival

Dansville Dogwood Festival

The Dansville Dogwood Festival is an annual event that is as anticipated as the famous NYS Festival of Balloons. The Festival has been an integral part of the Dansville community since the 1960s. The festival continues to be the longest running community event of its kind in our local area. Over the years, events have come and gone but one constant remains the same, the level of community involvement.

The festival always takes place the week following Mother’s Day. It begins on that Monday and runs through the following Sunday. A parade featuring local bands, fire departments, and other floats marches down Main Street to Babcock Park at 5 p.m. on the Saturday of the week. This event is often so highly attended that spectators set up their seats early that morning to ensure they have the location they most desire.

Other festival highlights include the 5K Dogwood Festival Walk and Run, an annual craft show, chicken barbecue, a carnival and more. Local community organizations, the Dansville Central School and other community members assist in organizing events in participation of the annual festival.

This year is Dansville 54th annual festival and will be held from Monday, May 11th to Sunday, May 17th. Many of the annual events will continue this year, including a variety of local sporting events, the Dansville Public Library’s book sale, 5K run and the parade. Please check out the printable schedule available for download.
